Pitt CC Upsets BSC 1-9 and 0-8

WINTERVILL, NC – Bryant & Stratton College Softball team dropped two on the road yesterday against Wake Tech CC.  Looking to pick up two games, BSC face Pitt CC Saturday, March 10th at 12pm and 2pm.

Bryant & Stratton College struggled early to put runs on the board.  BSC totaled three hits in game one scoring one run.  Kaleigh Arnett, Brylee Sutherland, and Samantha Patrick collected one hit each for the Bobcats.

Jenniffer Almonte was the starting pitcher, allowing nine hits and nine runs, striking out four.

H Rivenpark took the win for the Bulldogs, with the run rule victory after six innings.  She only allowed three hits and one run, totaling nine strikeouts. T Carroll sparked the offense, scoring one run, two runs and two RBIs.  M Moore contributed two hits for the Bulldogs.  Final Score 1-9

GAME TWO – Natalie Joyce started for the Bobcats on the mound, she surrendered eight runs on thirteen hits over five innings, striking out three.  Although, the Bobcats struggled offensively, defense did not commit a single error in the field. 

Samantha Patrick, Briannah Ward, and Natalie Joyce led the Bobcats in total hits. 

Janna Dawson took the win in six innings, holding the Bobcats to three hits and zero runs.  S Villalovos, T Carroll and B Hardee all with multiple hits to seal the sweep against the Bobcats. K Peeding led the charge going 4-4 at the plate, two runs and one RBI.  Final score 0-8

The Bobcats return home this Friday March 16th, for make-up games with Stratford University. The doubleheader will be played at Briarfield (field #1) in Hampton, VA at 2pm and 4pm.
