BSC Softball Shut Out Stratford Uni. 7-5 and 8-5

Virginia Beach, VA - The Lady Bobcat's Softball team shut out Stratford University in a doubleheader this afternoon in Hampton, VA 7-5 and 8-5.

Game One: Bryant & Stratton College 7, Stratford University 5

The Lady Bobcats bounced back from last weekend and jumped out early in the second inning scoring four runs, started by Kaleigh Arnett. Arnett leading the offense, going 4-4 on the day.  Natalie Joyce and Brylee Sutherland both collecting two hits each, one homer to left center, by Joyce, in the sixth inning clinched the win for the Bobcats. 

Taylor Bridges on the mound for the Bobcats, allowed nine hits and two strikes outs through seven innings.  

Veronica Acevedo was in the circle for the Cardinals, gave up fourteen hits and four strike outs in six innings.  

Leading the Cardinals offense was Brooke Olsavicky, Sadie Sly and Karla Martinez each contributing two hits on the day.  Martinez added three RBIs and zero strike outs.  

Game Two: Bryant & Stratton College 8, Stratford University 5

Morgan Foy on the mound for the game two, held the Bobcats to a second victory of the series.  Foy pitched seven innings, allowing five runs on eight hits.

Brylee Sutherland homer to left center started the charge for BSC in the second inning. Throughout the whole lineup, the Bobcats each earned a hit on the day to add to the sweep. 

Katie Farrow for the Cardinals lasted six innings and allowed thirteen hits, while striking out three.  Ivy Lee and Hayley Winfree each added two hits for Stratford.   

The Lady Bobcats travel to Louisburg CC on Saturday, April 6th for a doubleheader starting at 1pm and 3pm.
