Bobcats Esports Teams Win Big at Dreamhack
Your BSC Bobcats Valorant and SSBU (Super Smash Bros Ultimate) teams attended the Dreamhack Atlanta 2022 esports event this past weekend. Dreamhack is a set of esports events that host esports tournaments with large prize pools. This past weekend Dreamhack Atlanta hosted multiple $10,000 tournaments in which we had teams compete. With the event having multiple professional players in attendance, our SSBU had a hard-fought weekend with a final record of 7-14. Starting Saturday, the Valorant competition would begin. Your BSC Bobcats Valorant team would go completely undefeated, putting them in the grand finals on Sunday. Leading into Saturday night, Jakob "Gymical" Douglas would catch the competition by surprise and win the Legend of Runeterra grand finals! In his final match, Jakob would make an insane comeback against his opponent, allowing him to bring home the $1,000 prize. Sunday morning would kick off with the grand finals of the Valorant tournament. The match would be a best of five versus Georgia Tech with the series being tied one to one after Georgia Tech won Haven. Unfortunately for Georgia Tech, the next three games of the series would be the Bobcat's best maps. The Bobcats would proceed to dominantly win the maps Icebox and Bind, making them the winners of the $10,000 Valorant tournament! Alec "Shrilly" Desrochers would proceed to represent the team in an interview put on by Dreamhack. Additionally, one of our Bobcats had to chance to compete in the same Valorant tournaments on another team, Joao "Jvgiron" Giron, where his team finished 3rd place. Congratulations to everyone who competed over the weekend and keep an eye out for more updates about your BSCVA esports teams as our playoffs come to a close in the coming weeks.
