#17 Bobcats use strong second half to push past Wake Tech
Congratulations to the Bobcats on extending their current win streak to 5 and defeating Region 10 Conference foe Wake Tech. The Bobcats got off to a slow start and trailed 2-8 early on in the first half. Though struggling, they kept it competitive and close until they were able to finally take their first lead with 5 minutes remaining in the first half. They were able to maintain the lead into halftime with the score 33-29. While Wake Tech was able to keep it close early on in the second half, the Bobcats defense found new life midway though which carried over to the offensive end and helped the Bobcats build up a double-digit lead. The Bobcats were able to extend their lead to as many as 18 late in the second half and take home the victory 78-62.
Leading the way for the Bobcats was Zaire Rogers with 18 points, 17 rebounds, and 3 blocks, achieving his first double-double of the year. Kendall Bynum had 14 points and a game high 7 assists, Logan Blair added in 12 points and 7 rebounds, and Montrell Jackson rounded out the double digit scorers for the Bobcats with 10.
Catch your #17 Bobcats(9-1) back in action Sunday as they continue their road trip and take on the Fayetteville Tech Trojans (9-1). This conference matchup has plenty of playoff implications as both teams currently stand tied for second in the conference.
