Bobcats Fall 87–76 on the Road Despite Clark’s 26-Point Performance
The Bryant & Stratton College (VA) Bobcats couldn't keep pace with a hot-shooting Fayetteville Technical CC Trojans squad, falling 87–76 in a tough road matchup. The Bobcats hung close early but trailed 41–34 at halftime, and despite a 42-point second half, they were unable to string together enough stops to mount a full comeback. FTCC's balanced scoring and efficient shooting proved too much to overcome.
The Trojans showcased depth and scoring across the board, finishing with five players in double figures. Xavier Whitaker led the Trojans with 15 points, while Ray Mitchell and Jaden Lyles both made key second-half plays. FTCC shot 44.6% from the field, added eight three-pointers, and controlled the glass with a 39–34 rebounding advantage. Their ability to convert at the line (21-of-28) allowed them to maintain a steady lead throughout the game.
The Bobcats were powered by a standout showing from Kylan Clark, who erupted for 26 points on 8-of-16 shooting while adding seven rebounds. Azaiah Thompson and Travis Hamilton chipped in 11 points apiece, and Elijah Mendoza battled inside for 13 rebounds. However, shooting consistency and defensive lapses—especially in transition and on second-chance looks—kept Bryant & Stratton from closing the gap down the stretch. The loss drops the Bobcats to 4–4 as they continue their early-season road swing.
