Tanisha Halvorson Drives in Five as Bobcats Roll Past Fayetteville Tech CC, 16-1
Tanisha Halvorson had a standout performance at the plate, driving in five runs on three hits to lead Bryant & Stratton College to a dominant 16-1 victory over Fayetteville Tech CC on Friday.
Fayetteville Tech opened the scoring in the top of the first with a sacrifice fly from Leah Benjamin. However, the Bobcats quickly answered in the bottom half of the inning as Berry Rosychuk singled to center and Halvorson grounded out, each driving in a run to take a 2-1 lead.
Bryant & Stratton broke the game open with an eight-run second inning. Rosychuk drew a bases-loaded walk, Halvorson delivered a two-run single, Anaya Jones added a three-run single, and two more runs scored on a defensive error.
The Bobcats continued their offensive surge in the third. Halvorson doubled down the right field line to plate another run, followed by RBI hits from Alyssa Legault and Jones, extending the lead to 13-1.
In the fourth, Aurora Kennedy doubled in a run before Halvorson capped off her big day with a two-run homer to center field.
Hilary Stevenson picked up the win in the circle for the Bobcats, allowing just four hits and one run over five innings. She struck out five without issuing a walk. Fayetteville Tech's Albani Hooker took the loss, giving up eight runs on five hits and five walks in 1.1 innings of work.
The Bobcats tallied 14 hits in the game. Halvorson, Jones, and Kiara Selby each collected three hits, while Legault went 2-for-2 at the plate. The team also drew eight walks, with Legault, Rosychuk, and Ariellah Layton earning two each.
For Fayetteville Tech, Benjamin drove in the team's lone run. Trinity Gaither, Raven Ross-Gillespie, Jasmine Wagner, and Nyla Mitchell each recorded a hit, and the team turned one double play defensively.

Alyssa Legault powered Bryant & Stratton College to a commanding 23-6 win over Fayetteville Tech CC on Saturday, driving in five runs on two hits, including a three-run homer in the first inning.
The Bobcats exploded for 12 runs in the opening frame to take full control of the game early. Tanisha Halvorson drew a bases-loaded walk, Legault followed with a walk to drive in another, and Maleia Truelove ripped a three-run double. Ariellah Layton grounded out to bring home a run, Aurora Kennedy added another RBI with a walk, and Berry Rosychuk delivered a two-run single. Legault capped off the inning with a towering three-run homer to center.
Fayetteville Tech responded with two runs in the top of the first, scoring on a groundout by Nyla Mitchell and a fielder's choice by Jasmine Wagner.
Bryant & Stratton added a run in the second thanks to a Fayetteville Tech error, stretching the lead to 13-2.
The Bobcats piled on seven more runs in the third inning. Layton crushed a three-run homer to left, Kiara Selby added an RBI double, Kennedy followed with a two-run shot of her own, and Legault chipped in with an RBI single to complete her big day at the plate.
Maddaline Burns provided a late spark for Fayetteville Tech with a three-run homer to center in the fifth, but it wasn't enough to close the gap.
Jada Kezema earned the win in the circle for the Bobcats, allowing just four hits and three runs (two earned) over three innings with two strikeouts and no walks. Mitchell took the loss for Fayetteville Tech, surrendering 10 runs on five hits in two-thirds of an inning. Sophia Elderbaum appeared in relief for Bryant & Stratton.

Maleia Truelove drew a bases-loaded walk, and Emma Cardenas drove in two with a groundout to cap the inning.
Bryant & Stratton added two more runs in the second, capitalizing on a passed ball and another Fayetteville Tech error to push the lead to 7-0.
The offense erupted again in the fourth with a nine-run inning. Truelove drove in three runs with a single, Cardenas added two more with a base hit, and Berry Rosychuk brought home another with a groundout. Halvorson then crushed a two-run homer to center to complete the scoring outburst.

Emma Cardenas earned the win in the circle, allowing six hits and two runs across five innings. She struck out two and walked one. Mia Vasquez took the loss for Fayetteville Tech, allowing seven runs (only one earned) in one inning of work.
The Bobcats were solid defensively, turning one double play and committing no errors. Truelove led the team with five defensive chances.
