1-1 Split for the Bobcats Over Delaware Tech
Game One:
Bryant & Stratton College found itself in a tight battle early on the road against Delaware Technical Community College, with both teams held scoreless through the first two innings. Delaware Tech broke through first with a three-run third inning, putting the Bobcats in an early hole.
Bryant & Stratton responded in a big way in the middle innings, starting with a three-run home run in the fourth to even the game. The offense continued to build in the fifth and exploded in the sixth, stringing together hits and taking advantage of opportunities to take control.
Bryant & Stratton College secured a 10-5 victory, using a dominant stretch across the middle innings to pull away and close out the game.
Berry Rosychuk led the offensive surge with three hits, including a home run and two doubles, driving in three runs and scoring three times. Evangaline Destito added three hits and two RBI, while Ava Hohenadel contributed two hits, including a home run, and drove in two. Natalie Brown also collected three hits, and Aurora Kennedy reached base multiple times while scoring twice. Kiaya Lewis added an RBI, and Megan Luppino contributed with a sacrifice fly.
In the circle, Jada Kezema went the distance, allowing five runs (three earned) on 10 hits while working through traffic to earn the complete-game victory.
Game two:
Bryant & Stratton College wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to an early lead in the opening inning behind a two-run home run from Ava Hohenadel. The Bobcats carried that momentum into the third inning, adding another run to stay in front after Emerson McAllister came around to score.
Delaware Technical Community College answered with a big second inning and continued to apply pressure in the fourth, forcing Bryant & Stratton to play from behind midway through the game. Despite the deficit, the Bobcats continued to battle at the plate and chipped away, getting an RBI knock from Berry Rosychuk in the fifth to keep things within reach.
The biggest push came in the sixth inning, where Bryant & Stratton strung together quality at-bats and capitalized on opportunities. McAllister delivered an RBI single, Evangaline Destito drew a bases-loaded walk, and additional run-scoring hits from Aurora Kennedy and Natalie Brown helped fuel a five-run inning that brought the Bobcats right back into the contest.
At the plate, McAllister led the way with three hits and two runs scored, while Hohenadel powered the offense with a home run and three RBI. Rosychuk added two hits and two RBI, and Destito contributed with two hits and an RBI. Kennedy, Brown, and Brooklyn Munch each came through with key contributions during the offensive surge.
In the circle, Bryant & Stratton used a trio of pitchers, with Sophia Elderbaum getting the start before Presley Junell and Jada Kezema worked in relief. The Bobcats continued to compete late, adding another run in the seventh, but were unable to slow Delaware Tech's offensive output down the stretch.
