The Bobcats Compete at the VWU Richard Drake Invite

Virginia Beach, VA – Men's and Women's Track and Field competed in the VWU Richard Drake Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 6^th.  Teams in attendance were Christopher Newport, Hampton, Howard, Lenior-Rhyne and Mary Baldwin.

The Lady Bobcats placed in the Long Jump Finals, Tracy Idugboe placed 2^nd, with a distance of 5.51m.  Sophomore, L'Tamara Weeks placed 6^th, with a distance of 5.27m.  Tracy also placed 3^rd in the Women's Triple Jump (11.25m).

On the Men's side, Jason Ferrell placed 3^rd in the 400m finals (50.64) and Amir Epps placed 6^th (51.45).  Schavon Carr (8.14) and Caleb McGirt (8.62) placed 1^st and 4^th, respectively in the 60 hurdle finals.  The Bobcats Men's 4x400 relay team, Jason Ferrell, Amir Epps, DeAnte Bridges and Caleb McGire, placed 2^nd at 3:24.85.

The Bobcats return to the Virginia Beach Sports Center Friday, February 11^th and Saturday, February 12^th for the Kenneth Giles Invitational hosted by Norfolk State University.  First event at 10am.
