Runs came in pieces, with contributions from Kai Patton and Angel Ariona helping Bryant & Stratton stay in front. On the mound, Clayton Cooksey set the tone with a strong outing, limiting damage and keeping Robeson off balance through the early innings.
The momentum shifted in the sixth, when Robeson capitalized on a string of opportunities to put together a big inning and take control. Despite continuing to battle, the Bobcats found themselves chasing late.
A late spark came in the ninth as Sylvester Clarke connected on a solo home run, but the rally fell short as the Bobcats dropped a 7-5 decision.
Nelson Zapata led the offense with a four-hit performance and scored twice, while Ben Malone added two hits and crossed the plate two times. Kai Patton drove in a pair, and Clarke's late home run highlighted the final push. On the mound, Clayton Cooksey worked four innings, allowing just one run while striking out six in a strong start.
Game Two:
Aggressive baserunning and timely execution helped the Bobcats set the tone early, finding ways to generate offense right from the opening inning. Pressure on the basepaths forced mistakes, allowing Bryant & Stratton to capitalize and grab an early edge.
Robeson answered back in the middle innings, stringing together runs in the third and fourth to swing momentum. The Bobcats responded in the fifth, using a mix of situational hitting and awareness to reclaim control. Ben Malone delivered a key RBI single, Sylvester Clarke came around on a defensive miscue, and Nelson Zapata added a sacrifice fly to cap the rally.
In the sixth, Malone struck again with a clutch two-run triple to extend the lead, bringing home Ellis Windheim and Johan De Jesus and giving the Bobcats breathing room.
That surge proved enough as Bryant & Stratton secured a 7-5 victory.
Ben Malone led the way with three hits, a triple, three RBI, and two runs scored, while Sylvester Clarke added two hits and caused problems on the bases with two stolen bags. Benjamin Meeks chipped in with a pair of hits including a double. On the mound, Taylor Harris locked things down late, tossing two scoreless innings with four strikeouts to close it out.
Game Three:
A fast start and consistent offensive pressure allowed the Bobcats to take control early and keep their foot on the gas throughout the contest. Production came from all parts of the lineup, combining power and timely hitting to build momentum inning by inning.
After getting on the board in the first, Bryant & Stratton created separation in the third behind a three-run home run from Nelson Zapata. The offense continued to roll into the fourth, where Benjamin Meeks launched a two-run shot to further extend the lead and keep Robeson on its heels.
While the bats stayed hot, the pitching staff made sure there was no comeback in sight. Hector Noriega Rodriguez worked efficiently on the mound, limiting hard contact and keeping Robeson from putting together any sustained rallies.
