Defense Sets the Tone in Road Conference Matchup as #15 Bobcats take down Catawba Valley
A strong defensive presence traveled well Saturday afternoon as the Bryant & Stratton (VA) College Bobcats opened with active hands and control on the glass at Catawba Valley Community College. Early stops turned into transition opportunities, helping build a 17–11 edge after the first quarter. The pressure only intensified in the second, where the Bobcats held the Red Hawks to just five points, taking a 30–16 lead into halftime.
Coming out of the break, the offense found another gear. Crisp ball movement and efficient perimeter shooting stretched the margin in the third quarter, while continued rebounding dominance limited second-chance looks. Though Catawba Valley found more rhythm in the final period, the Bobcats answered with poised possessions and steady scoring to maintain control throughout the closing minutes.
Hailey Harris led the way with 21 points, knocking down five three-pointers and grabbing eight rebounds. Sian Lewin added 15 points, seven assists, and four steals, while Sanai Johnson filled the stat sheet with 10 assists, eight rebounds, and five steals. Carissa Frederick contributed a double-double effort on the glass with 10 rebounds, and Ravyn Gill provided nine points off the bench. Bryant & Stratton shot 49 percent from the field, forced 20 turnovers, and secured a 67–45 conference road victory.
