#23 Lady Bobcats Start out 2-0 Behind Strong Defensive Effort

The Bryant & Stratton College (VA) Lady Bobcats kicked off the 2025-26 season with an impressive 85–60 victory over the Hinds Community College Eagles, controlling all four quarters with consistent scoring and sharp execution. The Bobcats put up 21 points in every period, showcasing early-season discipline and offensive rhythm from start to finish.

Sian Lewin led the way with 17 points, four rebounds, and four assists, setting the tone for BSC's backcourt. Myla Parker added 12 points and five boards, while Carissa Frederick anchored the paint with 13 points and eight rebounds. Off the bench, the Bobcats received major contributions, Sania Johnson poured in 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting, Ravyn Gill added 11 points with five made free throws, and Izella Painter delivered a strong double-double performance with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

BSC's efficiency separated them early as the team shot 45.6% from the field and an impressive 54.5% from three. Defensively, the Bobcats pressured Hinds into off-balance possessions and won the rebounding battle 33–30. With 20 team assists and nine players scoring, Bryant & Stratton showcased depth, chemistry, and poise in their season opener, setting the stage for a strong year ahead.

Onto game two, the Bryant & Stratton College (VA) Lady Bobcats secured a 65–59 win over the Southern University–Shreveport Jaguars behind a balanced offensive attack and strong defensive effort. Four Bobcats scored in double figures, led by Sian Lewin and Myla Parker with 12 points each. Janiyaha Pickett added 10 points and a team-high four assists, while Sania Johnson provided a key boost off the bench with 11 points, going a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line.

The Bobcats controlled the middle quarters, outscoring the Lady Jaguars 21–15 in the second and 22–17 in the third to build a lead they maintained throughout. Izella Painter anchored the defensive presence with nine rebounds, helping the Bobcats win the battle on the boards 36–31. The team also collected nine steals and forced 23 turnovers, converting defensive pressure into points.

Despite a late push from the Jaguars, fueled by a 24-point performance from their leading scorer, the Bobcats remained poised in the closing minutes. Timely stops and efficient free-throw shooting secured the victory as the Bobcats opened the season with a strong, well-rounded performance on both ends of the floor.
